According to Dominic Otuchet, the President of the Uganda Athletics Federation-UAF, the championships will held be on Saturday at Tuban playgrounds in Kapchorwa Municipality.

He says that the championship is meant to give opportunities to talented athletes throughout the entire region of the country and is also geared towards preparing them for competitive and reputable participation at the National Cross Country Championships in Tororo.

Otuchet emphasized that team managers are obliged to record their athletes for UAF clearance to participate in the competition in adherence to UAF policies.   In this year’s championships, over 1,000 runners are expected to register for the 2024 edition following that, it is a first cross-country race opener.

The senior category will be 10km and 8km for the junior.
