Police in Hoima district is investigating circumstances under which an 18-year-old woman has disappeared from her home to unknown destination.
The victim is Evelyne Nyangoma, a resident of Kitongole village, Kibugubya parish, Kyabigambire Sub County in Hoima district.
Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine regional police spokesperson has disclosed that the victim left her home at around 1pm on Wednesday December 25, to go and buy medication for a toothache at Kitongole Trading Center, but failed to return back.
Hakiiza further says her mother, Annet Kanywani received a disturbing call from Evelyne’s phone number later that evening, with Evelyne crying and stating she was being held by unknown individuals in Hoima Town without disclosing the location.
He adds that investigations and inquiries are ongoing to establish the whereabouts of the victim.
