Eleven babies were successfully delivered at Masindi main hospital on Christmas day as Christians celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ.
Information obtained from Masindi hospital indicates that, out of the 11 newborns, 8 of them are boys and three girls and eight of these were normal deliveries while three required caesarean section.
Speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview, Dr Rogers Musinguzi, the medical superintendent of Masindi hospital, has urged mothers to always embrace going to the hospital during the time for delivery.
In other health facilities across the country, at Kawempe National referral hospital, 58 babies were born on Christmas day where 32 are male while 26 are females. 38 babies were born on the Christmas day at Gulu regional referral hospital while 16 boys and 15 girls were delivered from Mbarara regional referral hospital making a total of 31 babies born on a day the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. At Mulago specialized women and neonatal hospital, 9 babies were successfully born on Christmas day.
Notably, with over 290 babies born on Christmas day, several health facilities across the country registered more boys than girls were born on the special day
