The Albertine police has cautioned the public to be extra vigilant and careful of the presence of conmen in the area as cases of criminality continue to soar in the area.

Many community members are increasingly falling prey to the tricks of the conmen and now Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson tasks the residents to work jointly with the security officers to fight this vice.

Julius Allan Hakiiza says most victims fall prey to these dubious activities and do not report these cases to police hence little help is accorded to them.

Hakiiza says the office of the RDCs, office of the DISO and Police are always available to assist different people in case they suspect to have been engaged by conmen who aim at stealing their money among other items through false pretence.

He adds that the community should not easily disclose any information to strange and unknown people before engaging security or local leaders and ascertaining the motives of these people.

Some of residents have of recent complained of suspected conmen who claim to be residents of Kitoba Sub County, promising business opportunities.
