Woman Remanded for Murder of Husband

The Hoima Grade One Magistrates’ Court has remanded Ruth Asaba to Hoima Prison for the murder of her husband Moses Katusabe 40, a secondary school teacher at Bwikya Muslim secondary school in Hoima City.

Court presided over by Doreen Kayoo, the Hoima Grade one Magistrate on Tuesday evening heard that, Asaba, a resident of Kicwamba cell in Hoima East division of Hoima city together with others still at large planned, plotted and killed Katusabe on October 11.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when Katusabe had just returned from Hoima town.

The court also heard that Katusabe’s attackers hacked him severally on the head and neck. Katusabe succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.

Asaba was not allowed to enter any plea since her case is capital in nature compelling the magistrate to remand her to Hoima prison in Kiryatete until November 20 when she will reappear in court.

Katusabe was attacked by two unidentified assailants armed with Pangas at his home in Kicwamba Cell, Hoima East Division.

The attackers severely hacked him on the head and neck. Katusabe succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. Following the incident, police launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
