The councillor for Butoole parish in Kyangwali sub county Kikuube district has been confirmed dead after being involved in a road crash that occurred along Butoole Kabaale road on Sunday evening.
The deceased is Hon Japhali Birikumpi, 45, who was prounced dead upon arrival at Kyangwali Health Centre IV after being involved in accident in Kyarushesha parish Kabwoya Sub County.
The accident involved a motor vehicle of registration number UBN 494R Toyota double cabin driven by one Sisye Reagan, aged 23 years, who is said to have knocked and injured Jafali who was riding a motorcycle registration number UDB 533T.
The Kikuube district police commander SP John Bosco Tumwebaze confirmed the sad news, adding that traffic police has arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle involved in accident. The vehicle was later towed to the district police headquarters, as investigations continue.
