Minister Babalanda Directs Hoima Security Committee to Resettle Rwobunyonyi Evictees Back on Their Land

The Minister for Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda has directed the Hoima district security committee to follow the initial directive of the minister of lands to re-settle the people of Rwobunyonyi into their lands.

This has been revealed Thursday by the Patron of RDC’s in Bunyoro who is also the RDC of Kikuube district while visiting the affected people in a meeting held in the former Rwobunyonyi trading center

Amlan says the Minister of Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda directed him to work with the Hoima district security committee to have the evictees back into their land as per the directive made by the minister for lands Dr. Sam Mayanja when he visited the locus a few days ago

Amlan says the purported land grabbers did not follow the right procedures when these people were being evicted in phases

The Hoima district Chairperson LC-5 Uthman Mubarak Mugisa has disclosed that the land of Rwobunyonyi has no land title as it is being alleged and has accused the Hoima district police of not helping the people

While speaking on phone, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson Julius Allan Hakiza says the security should contact the IGP if they want a deployment in Rwobunyonyi as it is being requested by the locals
