Kisiita Town Council has recommended the creation of Kisiita District, reflecting the community’s desire for improved governance and service delivery in their area.
During a council sitting held on Thursday at Kisiita Town Council Hall, councilors supported the motion for the establishment of the new district, driven by the interests of people.
According to the councilors, this initiative aims to bring services closer to the community.
They emphasized that the creation of Kisiita District will lead to more job opportunities and foster overall development in the area.
The Kisiita Clerk, Tadeo Buletwenda Businge, called for the inclusion of technical experts during discussions about the creation of Kisiita District to provide informed advice.
Buletwenda on the other hand, promised the installation of streetlights to enhance security in the town.
Meanwhile, Mayor Aston Tumushabe highlighted recent road improvements, noting that a significant percentage of roads in Kisiita Town Council have been rehabilitated.
Mayor Tumushabe further said that Kisiita tractor is currently on-site, but government regulations advise against its use until it receives a digital number plate, which is in the process of being issued.
