The Kagadi town council LCIII Chairperson Geoffrey Businge has responded to the public outcry over huge piles of uncollected garbage in the Kagadi industry area, citing mechanical breakdown of the truck and labour shortage, which have constrained their efforts to dispose off waste materials to the dumping site.
The residents and the business community from the Kagadi industrial area have for long complained of the uncollected piles of garbage, asking for the intervention of the town council authorities to carry it to its dumping site to prevent disease outbreaks.
However responding to the public outcry, mayor Businge says the garbage truck has been faulty on top of man power shortages which have all affected their steadfast interventions to carry the waste products to their dumping site.
He however asked residents to remain calm noting that the garbage truck has been repaired and cleaning activities will resume soon.
Businge also asked the landlords to ensure their houses have soak pits to avoid contaminated water from flowing to the town streets and other residential areas.
