At the MIK Orphanage Foundation in Hoima, a palpable sense of excitement filled the air as the new educational term began following a donation of scholastic materials worth over Sh2.2 million.
The children, many of whom had faced significant hardships, gathered eagerly around the compound of the orphanage home located in Kyawriru cell, Hoima East Division, where boxes filled with scholastic materials were stacked high. Monday September 16, 2024 marked a turning point for them, as they received essential supplies that would aid their learning and growth.
As the boxes were opened, the children’s faces lit up with joy and anticipation. Inside, they discovered a treasure trove of brand-new notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and even some delightful treats.
The atmosphere was electric; laughter and chatter erupted as friends shared their new possessions and compared the colors of their pens.
The event was made possible through the generous support of WQS Recruitment Services Limited/Q-Sourcing Servetec, a laour recruiting firm committed to uplifting the community. Iain Porter, the Expert Management Officer from Q- sourcing Uganda says the company has played a vital role in organizing this distribution, ensuring that each child received not only the materials they needed but also a sense of hope and belonging.
