The Hoima East Division deputy Resident City Commissioner Moses Muyambi has accused a section of some defense secretaries for different cells in Hoima City for aiding criminal elements escape lawful arrest something that has escalated insecurity in the city.
Muyambi says whenever security conducts an operation in certain cells to crack down on criminality there are some secretaries for defense who collaborate with criminals by alerting them ahead of arrival of security operatives hence these individuals end up escaping arrest.
He cited a recent scenario where they planned for an operation to arrest some elements in three cells he did not disclose in the city, however the defense secretaries of those cells would alert the wanted persons and by the time security operatives arrived the suspects had already escaped to unknown hideouts.
He also adds that “some LCI Chairpersons know the criminal elements in their area but are hesitant to take action because they are children of so and so”
The deputy RCC was speaking to over 70 LCI and LCII Chairpersons from Hoima East division at Kitara secondary school main hall on Thursday.
