The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Rt. Rev. Jacob Ateirweho, has urged Christians to have self-denial for earthly things and instead dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ, so as to inherit His Kingdom.

Bishop Ateirweho made the call on Thursday while preaching to the congregation at Kihumuro C.O.U Parish in Kisiita Archdeaconry, Bunyoro Kitara Diocese.

His visit to Kihumuro C.O.U marks the beginning of his pastoral visit to Kisiita Archdeaconry, and he is expected to travel to different archdeaconries.

Bishop Ateirweho says that having strong faith in Jesus Christ requires Christians to sacrifice earthly pleasures and bodily desires. He adds that Christians should live to glorify Christ rather than engaging in evil deeds.

The Bishop also confirmed 68 individuals into the Anglican faith.

The Kakumiro District Chairperson, Joseph Sentayi, appealed to parents to collaborate with the government in supporting their children’s education, in order to mold them into responsible citizens in the future.
