Police in Kagadi district are holding two people over alleged murder of Becker Bwambale, a male adult aged 25 years and resident of Lyabaranga B village in Lyabaranga parish, Mpefu Sub County.
The suspects are Grace Kyomuhendo, a bar owner in Kobushera trading center and Oliver Kembabazi a waitress in the same bar.
According to Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region police spokesperson, it is alleged that on June 18, 2024, at around 10pm, Bwambale while in a bar in Kobushera trading center, he fell in love with one of the suspects Kembabazi a waitress in the bar.
Hakiza explains that one Monday who was also in the same bar attacked the deceased and started assaulting him since he was also interested in the waitress thus the bar owner together with the waitress joined him to assault the deceased.
He says the victim went home that night and informed his relatives about the assault. He later felt pain in the lower abdomen and was taken to a nearby clinic where he was later referred to a general hospital.
Hakiza adds that on June 19, 2024 after his condition detoriated, his relatives reported a case of assault at Kobushera police post.
Hours later, Bwambale died.
Hakiza says two people Kembabazi and Kyomuhendo were picked up in connection to the incident. These together with Monday who is on the run, will be charged with murder.
