The marine police on Lake Albert are searching for the body of one Julius Bihanga aged 30 years who died by drowning at Songa Lendu landing site in Buliisa district.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, says the incident of suspected drowning occurred on June 21, 2024 at around 17:00hours on the showers of Lake Albert.
Hakiza says the deceased went to have a bath at the lake while drunk and as he was bathing, a strong wind swept him away.
He adds that the body of the deceased is yet to be recovered cautioning the general public to stop going to the lake especially when unaccompanied.
