The Hoima district LCV chairperson has written to the Ministry of Local Government requesting for transfer of the Chief Administrative Officer Charles Oluba Kumaketch over the latter’s continuous political engagements that the politician says are aimed at failing him at his duties in the district.

In a May 20, 2024 letter to the permanent secretary ministry of local government and seen by our reporter, Uthuman Mugisa Mubarak wants an administrative action of transferring the officer to another district for the good of the people of Hoima over among other issues including lack of team work, engagement in political activities at the district and lack of respect.

The district boss says Kumaketch has continuously undermined his leadership as well as his executive committee adding that he has several times implemented issues without the knowledge of the executive committee.

Uthuman also cites lack of respect by the head of the district technical wing and hence resulting into worsening relationship between the two wings of the district.

“We are entering a political season where the people would wish us to make accountability for the time spent in office, me as a district chairman if I have a CAO who doesn’t have respect for me and keeps undermining my leadership and hobnobbing privately with my political opponents, it is obvious that it will affect my political career and service delivery” reads part of the letter.

He adds that for effective service delivery at the district, there needs to be team work between the political and technical wings however he says Kumaketch seems not to exhibit the traits of unity and team work.
