Kikuube district local government is today Wednesday set to receive the first of its kind road equipment which leaders see as relief to improving the road infrastructure in the district.
This was confirmed by Peter Banura, the Kikuube district LCV chairperson while speaking to our reporter on Tuesday evening.
Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja is expected to be the chief guest at the commissioning ceremony of the roads equipment ceremony which will be held at the ministry of works and transport offices in Kampala.
Banura says the road equipment will reduce on the hiring costs of the equipment from other districts since the district will use their own to boost the road rehabilitation and other road works in the districts.
He adds that the funds that were being spent on the equipment will be diverted to other priority areas like in health facilities, education infrastructures among others adding that the farmers who were struggling to take their produce to the market and pregnant women who were delivering on the road because of poor roads will now have relief.
He however, cautions on putting the equipment to the right use of improving road network in the district adding that the leaders and technical staff are cautioned against putting the equipment to the own personal gains.
