Police in Kikuube district are holding a 40-year-old refugee mother for allegedly killing her 11-year-old child. The suspect is Namurungi Arifosino, a resident of Mukunyu village, Kyangwali sub-county Kikuube district.
The suspect is alleged to have beat up her child identified as Bahati Muombamungu to coma as she accused her for staying out of home for three days.
According to Hakiiza the woman kept the child at home after the assault fearing to take her to the hospital, but later the village chairman informed an organization called save the children about the incident.
The organization took the child to Rwenyawawa health center III but the child was referred to Mulago hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He addsthat the suspect is still detained at Kikuube police station and will soon be arraigned before court to answer charges of murder
