Denis Omedi, Jude Ssemugabi and Kabon Living scored for Kitara in the 3-0 win over 10-man URA as they extend lead at the top by three points.
Omedi from a seemingly offside position tapped home from close range off a pass from former URA man Kabon Living in the fourth minute.
Ssemugabi doubled the lead in the 37th minute heading Paul Mucureezi’s corner into the back of the net and Kabon put the icing on the cake with a goal in additional time of the second half.
David Obua’s side were dominant on the day and missed a good chance before the break when James Begisa shot wide after beating the offside trap.
James Alitho, Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Joseph Ssemujju came in at halftime for the tax collectors but were dealt a great blow at the hour mark when Ahimbisibwe was sent off for elbowing Paddy Muhumuzza leaving the visitors with 10-men.
Kitara are now on 43 points after 21 games, three ahead of BUL who take on Villa on Friday for their 21st game of the season while URA remain 7th with 31 points as they poor run on the road continues.
At Njeru, Busoga United recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Soltilo Bright Stars and move one place up from 15th to 14th on the log.
Jeremy Matata and Franco Mugomba scored for the hosts in the second half to cancel out first half goals from Sharif Nsereko and Isa Bugembe.
Busoga United are now on 17 points after 20 games with Bright Stars 11th on 25 points having played one more game.
Action in the league continues on Friday with two games on card – BUL hosting Villa and later, KCCA visiting Vipers at Kitende.
