The Buyaga East and Pan African MP Eric Musana Acaali has disclosed that ownership disputes of the market land between the Kagadi Self Help Project and the town Council authorities have frustrated government’s efforts to construct and develop the market

Musana says the two entities have failed to resolve the land ownership impasse affecting plans by government to develop the market.

Addressing market vendors on Tuesday, Musana advised traders to always make records and accountabilities for their businesses for sustainability and growth.

The legislator has however promised to cooperate with the UEDCL and Kagadi Town Council authorities to address some challenges in the market through construction of the stalls, generation of electricity, enhancing market security and addressing issues of high revenue.

The chairperson Kagadi market Edison Mbabazi raised some of the challenges faced by the vendors in the market including high taxes, lack of electricity, destruction of their merchandise by rains and hot weather, calling for the government intervention.

The Kagadi Taxi Park ward councillor Johnson Kirya calls on Kagadi Self Help Project and Town Council authorities to resolve the ownership disputes of the market land so as to open room for its construction.
