The Kagadi district deputy Resident District Commissioner has cautioned locals to always avoid sectarian tendencies for the continuous progress of the government’s transformation agenda.

Speaking to Spice FM, Benjamin Tumusiime has condemned the religious conflicts that locked the district at the end of last year praying for a peaceful coexistence and an end to the religious differences in this New Year 2024.

Tumusiime says for a society to develop, it requires a diverse of ethnic groups who bring in new ideas for economic growth, asserting that development does not segregate in tribes.

Commenting on the looming political season, he has urged the community to elect leaders basing on merit guiding that tribalism might lead to loss of good leaders whose leadership can contribute to the development of the area.

He reminded the masses of the NRM four principles of Patriotism, Pan–Africanism, Social-Economic transformation and Democracy that had been instilled out of the chaotic politics and governance that had befallen Uganda for many years.
