Drama has ensued in Mpeefu sub-county Kagadi district after a man in his 50 was chased from the village group for allegedly eating a snake.
The accused has been identified as Mupenzi Ssalongo a resident of Mpeefu B village Rwabaranga Parish, Mpeefu sub-county in Kagadi district.
It’s alleged that last week, Mupenzi was caught red-handed eating snake meat something that led to mixed reactions among members of Nyekundire group, which he subscribes too. The group offers outside catering services in Mpeefu sub-county, Kagadi district.
However, in a meeting convened in Mpeefu B village chaired by Hon. Siragi Ngabirano the LC 3 chairperson Mpeefu sub-county on Monday, all 78 group members said they would not be able to associate with an alleged “snake eater”.
Mupenzi denied the allegations but confessed that he killed the snake in search for herbal medicine of his stunted child after he was directed by one of his friends that parts of a snake are remedies to his son’s medical condition.
He asked for forgiveness but members rejected his plea.
