The police in Kagadi have arrested Christopher Tinkamanyire, the Parish Chief for Pacwa in Pacwa sub-county for allegedly stealing One Million Shillings.

It is alleged that Tinkamanyire and Simon Agaba, the Pacwa-Nyamigisa Parish Development Model-PDM SACCO Chairperson who is currently on the run, connived and withdrew the money from the bank account belonging to Evelyne Mbabazi 53, a member of the same Parish Development model-PDM SACCO.

The two officials since the beginning of this month kept on telling Mbabazi that her money had not yet been deposited in her bank account yet all other members of the SACCO received their money.

According to Mbabazi, she became suspicious and reported the matter to Kagadi police who started investigations.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson explains that they arrested Tinkamanyire on Wednesday and whisked him to the Kagadi central police station with charges of theft already preferred against him.

He says that Tinkamanyire admitted to having connived with Agaba to withdraw the money from the account and did not deliver it to the owner.

According to Hakiza, police have recovered the money from the suspect adding that the hunt for Agaba who is still at large is on.
