Buliisa Police Stuck with 131 Suspected Stolen Cows

Police in Buliisa district stuck with 131 suspected stolen heads of cattle.

The cows are being kept at Buliisa central police station pending identification.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says that on August 25, 2023, police received information that there were people moving cattle from the Bugungu game reserve.

Hakiza says as police, they conducted an operation and found one John Ntayomba who is now in their custody with 148 heads of cattle. Two other suspects escaped.

Hakiza states that one of the complainants identified as Jacklisi Kaahwa who is a resident of Kigwera village in Buliisa district only identified two heads of cattle and later also 17 heads of cattle were also identified by the rightful owner.

Police is now keeping the remaining 131 pending identification.
