Police has arrested one Herbert Katushabe aged 35 years, a resident of Kiswaza village in Kiziranfumbi sub couty in Kikuube district for allegedly murdering his father identified as Julius Kwesiga, aged 61 years over land.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson explains that on August 11, 2023, the deceased was seen in Kiswaza trading center while taking alcohol.
Hakiza says the following morning at around 7:00am, one man identified as Brain Belifula found Kwesiga’s body burnt to death in his seating room.
Hakiza says Befula reported the matter to police leading to the arrest Katushabe who is the deceased’s son after establishing that the suspect and the deceased have been feuding over land.
He says the Kiswaza village chairman and some locals had the recordings of Katushabe threatening to kill his father over land.
Katushabe who is now behind bars will be charged with murder.
