One person died on Tuesday the spot while three others are nursing wounds at Masindi general hospital after the sugarcane truck belonging to Kinyara Sugar Ltd overturned along Masindi – Kafu road.
The incident happened Wednesday in Katagurukwa Village, Miirya sub countyin Masindi district.
Speaking to our reporter at the scene, Shakilah Kusemererwa, an eyewitness attributed the accident to over speeding.
Brian Onenchan, a survivor who is nursing wounds at Masindi general hospital says that the driver was over speeding and when they told him, he decline to reduce the speed leading to the accident.
When contacted, the Kinyara Sugar Limited Corporate Communications Manager, Aldon Walukamba confirms the accident saying they working with the police to arrest the driver who is currently on the run.
He also says they investigating on the exact cause of an accident.
