A two and half year-old boy who went missing has been discovered dead with his body floating on River Howha.
The deceased has been identified as Anthony Twinamasiko a son to John Alinaitwe, residents of Hohwa village, Kaseeta parish in Kabwoya Sub County in Kikuube district.
The body of the deceased was discovered on Sunday floating at River Hohwa with some body parts missing. The missing body parts include head, genitals, hands and ears.
Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says on July 3, 2023, the parents of the boy left him at home with his elder brothers at went to attend to their gardens. However, on coming back at around 3pm on the same day, the boy was nowhere to be seen and the elder brothers could not account for his whereabouts.
Hakiiza says the search for the boy has been on until twhen his body was discovered on Sunday adding that this could be related to child sacrifice.
He adds that the investigations have kicked off into the matter to ascertain the people behind the gruesome act. He meanwhile asks the public to provide information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.
