The delayed acquisition of land is hampering efforts to kick-start the operationalization of Bunyoro University.

This was revealed by Professor Samuel Kyamanywa, the chairperson Bunyoro University steering committee on Monday while leading the survey, evaluation and physical planning team during the inspection of Bulera Core Primary Teachers College land where the proposed Bunyoro University headquarters will be established.

The land is located in Bulera Cell, Hoima City.

Professor Kyamanywa says various local governments in the region have promised to offer land for the establishment of the university but on an informal basis.

He adds that the committee is set to inspect the different proposed project sites and later submit a report to the ministry of education and sports for approval.

Brain Kaboyo, the Mayor Hoima City, says council offered land to Bunyoro University and is ready to handover the land title to the university for betterment of education standards.
