The loan awarding committees under the Parish Development Model are on the spot for poorly determining the loan amounts to program beneficiaries which has slowed down the implementation and disbursement of PDM funds in Hoima city.

While meeting the program beneficiaries for Hoima East division at Bwikya Church of Uganda, Jovelyn Kaliisa, the deputy national coordinator PDM says it has been discovered that the committees would determine the loan amounts to be issued to the program beneficiaries without consulting the beneficiaries who are responsible of using and repaying the loans.

Kaliisa clarifies that the amounts to be given out should match with the beneficiaries business plans.

The different loan awarding committees told Ms Kaliisa that because of limited amounts of funds given to their SACCOs, they decided to share the received amounts amongst all beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Badru Mugabi, the Hoima RCC has urged all PDM SACCOs to streamline the anomalies ahead of the program launch on Friday.
