Hoima City authorities are to engage landlords in the city on hygiene and sanitation which they say is worrying.
During the Keep Hoima City clean campaign held on Saturday morning, it was discovered most short cuts and lanes have remained dirty and unhygienic.
Sylvia Nalumaga Balyesiima the Hoima City lord mayor says many corridors have become hiding and dumping places for heaps of rubbish which she blamed on some dwellers of rented houses.
Nalumaga adds that they are now to engage land lords for a lasting solution of maintaining drainages and short cuts clean and tidy.
Aliba Kiiza the board chairperson of Uganda microfinance support center says “if we’re to maintain a clean city, residents are supposed to own it up, respond to the leaders’call and keep the city clean”.
