Police in Masindi district are investigating circumstances under which a suspected cattle thief was killed on Easter Sunday in Kyangamwoyo village, Buruli County.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson confirms the incident and identified the deceased as David Sekimuli, a resident of Bukooba Village in Kijunjubwa Sub County, Buruli Constituency.
According to Hakiza, the deceased was killed by an angry mob after he was nabbed stealing a cow from the kraal of the late Edward Ngonda.
He notes that no suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident, adding that police has commenced investigations into the matter.
Hakiza cautions the public to desist from the acts of mob justice, noting that suspects should be arrested and reported to any nearest police station or authorities for the law to take action.
