The National Identification Registration Authority has scaled up its campaign to ensure that all school going children obtain national identification numbers (NINs) in Bunyoro region.
Speaking to our reporter on Tuesday evening at Booma grounds, Eveline Oliver Kiiza the district registration officer for Hoima city, Kikuube and Hoima districts, says exercise targets all school going children currently in holiday to ensure that they return to school with their NINs.
She says priority is being given to those children who have never registered to get a NIN, issue national identification numbers to those who registered earlier and issue national identification cards (NIDs) those who have made 16 years.
She adds that NINs are now a requirement by the ministry of education and sports in order to implement the new curriculum.
