The Hoima East Division Resident Commissioner is concerned over the increased cases of food insecurity among households in the division.
During a visit to a number of households in the division recently, Williams Kasigazi Donanto says several households lack food yet they have un-utilized pieces of land.
Kasigazi adds that some families he visited depend on a single meal a day.
Now, Kasigazi says starting with this calendar year, he will mobilize a team of agriculture extension workers and community development officers to kick start sensitization campaigns on embracing modern and urban farming especially those with small pieces of land.
