The Kikuube district principal assistant secretary Samuel Muganzi says delays in release of funds is hampering the implementation of the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP) in the district.
Speaking during the budget conference for the financial year 2023/24 held at Hoima Resort hotel in Hoima City on Thursday, Muganzi said they are yet to implement a number of programs under the project because of lack of funds adding that they are yet to receive the funds for the current financial year.
He revealed that as a district they are not in control of the project since it is being managed by World Bank under the multi- regional project. He added the bank always designs their own timelines for the project implementation.
DRDIP-Uganda, is five-year projected implemented under the Office of the Prime Minister. The project provides development and direct income support to the poor and vulnerable within refugee hosting districts in Uganda.
