Four people have been confirmed dead in a motor accident that occurred at Waaki bridge along the Hoima-Buliisa Road in the Buliisa district Wednesday afternoon.

The accident involved a trailer registration number KBT 426K/ZE 0752 and a motorcycle registration number UFS 150G Bajaj.  Waaki village Chairperson Geofrey Okumu says the trailer failed to negotiate the sharp corner on the bridge due to overspeeding and swerved off the road, from where it rammed into a motorcycle killing the rider and another pedestrian.

Both the driver and the turn man also died when the trailer eventually lost control and overturned.  The deceased persons have been identified as Ahamed Abdoulaye and Ahamed Detho both Kenyan nationals who were in the trailer, while the pedestrian has been identified as Boy Munguromo. The motorcycle rider is yet to be identified.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says police preliminary investigations point to a case of reckless driving. The bodies of the deceased persons have been taken to Hoima City Mortuary.
