Police in Kibaale District are investigating circumstances under which an 80-year-old man died in a house fire.
The shocking incident occurred at 11pm on Thursday night at Kituuma village in Rwega Parish, Bubango Sub County, Kibaale district, when fire gutted the house leaving the old man dead.
The deceased has been identified as Augustine Kaahwa, a resident of Kituuma village.
According to eyewitnesses, the neighbours were attracted by smoke from the burning grass thatched house, but unfortunately Kaahwa could not be saved since the fire had already engulfed the house where he was sleeping.
The Albertine region police spokesperson Julius Allan Hakiza, has confirmed the report saying police is investigating the cause of the fire.
