The preparations for Bunyoro Kitara diocese golden jubilee celebrations are in high gear.
Speaking during a preparatory meeting for the celebrations at St. Peters Cathedral in Hoima City on Tuesday, the organizing committee chairperson who is also the dean St. Peters Cathedral, the Very Rev Canon Eric Twine says Bunyoro Kitara diocese started in 1972 hence this year, they will be marking 50 years of serving God.
The celebrations will be held under the theme “All that we have accomplished you have done for us; Isaiah 26:12”.
Twine says the diocese will hold three types of celebrations; that is golden jubilee for children that will be in held at Duhaga in August, women celebrations that will be held in Kagadi district and the main celebrations that will be in October and this will be accompanied with showing physical achievements of the church for the 50 years.
Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli, the Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara diocese notes that as a church, they are soliciting funds for the three days celebration of the golden celebrations that will take place in October 28th, 29th and 30th this year.
