Simon Peter Kaahwa who claims was shot by the OC Kasingo Police Post

Boda-boda cyclists operating in Kasingo trading center, in Hoima West Division, Hoima City on Wednesday afternoon stormed the office of the Hoima City Resident Commissioner protesting what they termed as mistreatment and harassment by police officers at Kasingo police post.

This follows an incident where one cyclist was on Sunday injured as police in the area enforced the presidential directives on the fight against Covid-19.

The victim is identified as Simon Peter Kaahwa a resident of the same area. Kaahwa alleges that he was shot by the officer in Charge of Kasingo police post Mwereza Francis as he was going home at around 7pm injuring his arm.

John Mutegeki and Ronald Rujumba, also boda boda cyclists condemned the incidents and appealed to concerned authorities to compel the police officer to apologize and give treatment to the victim.

They also demanded for the transfer of the police post to avoid calamities that may result from the misuse guns by the officer.

The Hoima district police commander Akiu Robert denied the allegations labeled against the officer adding that the victim was injured by an iron sheet as they escaped from the officers who were enforcing curfew.
