Residents in Runga Landing site in Kibiiro Parish, Kiganja Sub County in Hoima District are struggling to cope with life without toilets as the population increases.
The residents say they have severally asked for a solution but little or almost no response comes from Hoima district local government.
The Chairperson LC1 Runga Village Landing site Gilbert Opio says most residents have resorted to open defecation since they lack toilets.
He says construction of latrines at the lack side is challenging due to the soil texture that is sandy.
Opio adds that many people flocked Runga landing site recently following the closure of several illegal landing sites like Bikunyu, Kavava, Katonge, Kakoma and Songagagi hence increasing the population fo Runga.
He adds that more than 10 families are using one facility at a time.
